 THE FUGITVIE SLAVE CHAPEL

London, Ontario's Fugitive Slave Chapel was formed in the 1840's by groups of American slaves that sought refugee in Canada. The church was used until about 1869 when the congregation began using Beth Emmanuel Church.

Early in 2014 the City of London and its heritage council recognized the importance of the chapel and voted to move it beside Beth Emmanuel Church for preservation. The church was offically moved to its new home on Grey Street on November 17, 2014.
